PRATST PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: October 2026
1. Introduction
1.1 PRATST (registration number 2026/254332/07) ("PRATST", "we", "us", "our") handles personal information under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA") and other applicable South African law.
1.2 This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how you can exercise your rights. It covers the website at pratst.com (the "Site"), including bundle checkout, beat licences, TrackCards, and Network Partner accounts.
1.3 The Site sells fixed-price production bundles and licences to PRATST beats. It is not a marketplace where members list their own beats or studios for other members to book.
1.4 By using the Site you acknowledge this policy. It forms part of the Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Who we are
2.1 Responsible party: PRATST (registration number 2026/254332/07).
2.2 Address: Mount Redfield Road, Midlands, Midstream Estate, Centurion, 1692, South Africa.
2.3 Privacy questions, correction requests, and deletion requests go to the Information Officer at support@pratst.com.
3. What we collect
3.1 Account details. Name, surname, username, email address, and password. We use these to create the account and to contact you about a purchase or a TrackCard.
3.2 Bundle and TrackCard details. Which bundle you bought (Pratst Single, Polish, or Capture), whether a beat licence was added, gift codes, activation, and the status of each milestone. We use these to deliver the project and to keep a record of the sale.
3.3 Session location and contact number. If your bundle includes a mobile recording, we collect the address where the session will happen, the map coordinates for that address, and a phone number. We use the address and coordinates to invite Network Partners who cover that area. The phone number is shown only to the engineer who accepts the session, so they can coordinate arrival. If no recording engineer covers the area you enter at checkout, you can leave an email address. We keep that email with the area so we can contact you when a recording engineer covers it. We do not use that address for other marketing.
3.4 Audio and project notes. Vocal files, beats you upload, mix files, reference tracks, session notes, client notes, and revision notes. We use these to run the TrackCard and to deliver the finished files.
3.5 Network Partner details. Name, profile, verification photo, vehicle colour, make, model, and registration number where the partner provides them, bank account details for withdrawals, and the jobs they accept. After a recording is accepted, the artist sees the engineer’s name, verification photo, and vehicle details so they know who is coming. A recording engineer also provides a phone number in profile verification. We use it to contact that engineer about a session they have accepted. It is not published on the public profile, it is not given to the artist, and it is not used for marketing.
3.6 Payment records. PayFast sends us the result of a checkout (whether it succeeded, the amount, and a payment reference). We do not store your card number. We store wallet balances and withdrawal requests.
3.7 Messages. Emails and support requests you send to support@pratst.com, and notices we send you about a bundle, a mix review, or an account change.
3.8 Technical data. IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. If Google Analytics is enabled on the Site, Google receives usage data, which may include an IP address, to measure how the Site is used. We also derive a rough location from the IP address for security. That rough location is separate from the session address in clause 3.3.
4. Why we may process it
4.1 We process personal information where we need it to perform a contract (a beat licence or a bundle), where the law requires a record, where you have asked us to do something, or where we have a legitimate reason that does not outweigh your rights, such as keeping the Site secure and preventing fraud.
4.2 Marketing email is sent only if you have agreed to it. You can unsubscribe in the message or by emailing support@pratst.com. Purchase receipts, mix-review notices, and other messages about a job you already have are not marketing.
5. Who we share it with
5.1 The assigned recording engineer receives the session address, the artist’s name, the contact number, and the session notes needed to do the recording. Engineers who are invited to claim a slot see the time and the area they would need to cover. They do not all receive the phone number.
5.2 The mix engineer assigned to a Pratst Single or Polish bundle receives the artist’s name, the audio files for that TrackCard, the client notes, and any session notes from the recording.
5.3 The artist sees the name, verification photo, and vehicle details of the recording engineer who accepted, and the name of the mix engineer on that TrackCard.
5.4 PayFast receives the information required to take payment. Their own privacy terms apply to that step.
5.5 Google may process analytics data on servers outside South Africa when Google Analytics is enabled. We use that data to understand traffic, not to sell advertising profiles.
5.6 Hosting and email providers store the information that sits on our systems, only so the Site can run.
5.7 Authorities receive information when the law, a court, or a regulator requires it, or when we must disclose it to prevent fraud or to protect someone’s safety.
5.8 We do not sell personal information. If the business is sold, the buyer would receive the customer and project records needed to keep the service running, and we would tell account holders about that change.
6. How long we keep it
6.1 Account details are kept while the account is open and for up to 5 years after it closes, for disputes and records.
6.2 Invoices, bundle payments, beat purchases, and wallet withdrawals are kept for 5 to 7 years, because tax and company law expect that.
6.3 TrackCard audio and notes are kept while the account is open so you can download the files, and afterwards for up to 5 years unless you ask us to delete them sooner and we are not legally required to keep them.
6.4 The session phone number and the precise session address are kept with that TrackCard. They are not published on a public profile. A recording engineer phone number is kept with that profile while the account is open, and for up to 5 years after it closes. An email left because an area was not covered is kept until we contact you about coverage, or until you ask us to delete it, and for no longer than 2 years.
6.5 Support messages are kept for up to 3 years. Analytics data follows Google Analytics’ retention settings, which are commonly about 14 months.
6.6 When a record is no longer needed, we delete it or strip it so it no longer identifies you.
7. Security
7.1 The Site is served over HTTPS. Card numbers stay with PayFast. Access to project files and bank details is limited to people who need them to run the account or the TrackCard.
7.2 No online service is perfectly secure. Keep your password private and email support@pratst.com if you think someone else has used your account.
8. Your rights
8.1 You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where the law allows, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing was based on consent. Email support@pratst.com. We will check that the request comes from you.
8.2 We aim to answer within 30 days. A complicated request may take another 30 days, and we will tell you if it does. A request is free unless it is repeated or clearly unreasonable, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee.
8.3 You may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa:
- Website: www.inforegulator.org.za
- Email: complaints@inforegulator.org.za
- Telephone: 012 406 4818
- Address: JD House, 27 Stiemens Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg, 2001
Please write to us first so we can try to fix the problem.
9. Cookies
9.1 The Site uses cookies that are required to sign you in and to keep a checkout or a TrackCard session secure. The Site does not work properly without those.
9.2 If Google Analytics is switched on, Google may set analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser. Blocking the sign-in cookies will stop you from using an account.
10. Children
10.1 The Site is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. A parent who believes a child has given us information can email support@pratst.com.
11. Changes
11.1 We will post any change on this page and change the date at the top. If a change materially expands what we do with information we already hold, we will email account holders at least 30 days before it applies.
